![]() ShowerUp is a grass-roots, Nashville-area ministry made up of people from all walks of life.
Our Executive Director, Paul Schmitz, and his wife Rhonda (our Vice President), have been serving the homeless for nearly a decade. They first started a lunch ministry in Wichita, KS that grew from serving just a handful of people every week, to nearly 250 in a matter of months. Even though they no longer live in Wichita, that ministry continues today and has grown to engage a variety of churches, community groups and individuals. After moving to Nashville, Paul and Rhonda immediately began working with organizations like People Loving Nashville and Open Table in serving our area's homeless, poor, and marginalized neighbors. In mid-2016, while looking for untapped ways to serve those experiencing homelessness, they heard about mobile shower units serving San Diego and St. Louis and felt called to lead the way to understand the need in Nashville and create something specially designed to not only meet the need, but enlist values and strategies so that ShowerUp could impact lives in a unique way. |
